Black Belt Grading Kilkenny 4/12/11 - 06 December 2011
Congratulations to all the boys over the weekend, we had the largest number of people grading from any club. The atmosphere was electric as a parent and as a spectator.

Let's start with the juniors,
We had Daniel Stewart, Sean Smyth, Ciaran Clancy and Paul Stewart who were awarded their first degree black belts. Then we had Mr Mark Boylan who was awarded his third degree black belt. Would you believe his last grading was 22/24 years ago...and he still has the speed of a leopard in his legs! Well done to Mr Gareth Curran who was awarded his fourth Degree.

A special mention to Mr Nigel Stobie and his son Donnchadh who where awarded sixth and first degree respectively. There must be great excitement in the Stobie household.

I think it is a worthy achievement for Master Douglas and Ms Nicole Douglas to bring the boys from the Little dragons to their first degree in Tae Kwon Do. The work done by the instructors and the students is a great credit to them.

Rising to the next level shows character, commitment, dedication and discipline that are attributes of a noble person.

We should all take great pride in our club and the achievements we make along the way..

MDTS Summer Camp - 16 July 2011
Well, its been a fantastic week for the first MDTS summer camp. The weather was great and the Greenhills and Adamstown students had a ball.
Never was so much variety packed into a fun 5 day activity summer camp. They had army camp, athletics, Aussie rules, soccer, obstacle course and yes, Tae kwon as well for good measure. The T-shirts says it all, "I survived...".

Well done to all who attended, from speaking to some of the students they said that it was the best summer camp ever. Not surprising really as Master Douglas ran a smooth and action packed programme with his two assistant black belt coaches, Nicole Douglas and Declan McDonnell.

Master Douglas I think that you and your team need a holiday now!

We also had Master Brendan O Toole 8th Dan attend for one of the days which the students really appreciated.

Finally well done to all who graded at the end of the 5 days.

To all the students - We hope you had a great time, learnt loads and made new friends in the camp, we look foward to seeing you again in 2012 summer camp.

Check out the photos under the Gallery tab or the video under the video tab.

We had a great evening of entertainment with our good friends from Rush. Thank you Ann and Lucia Mc Carty for accepting the invite (it was a small bit overdue in coming!). You have a great spirited club.

Part of the M50 was blocked for a while due to the amount of support traveling with their club.

Special mention to Karen, Aisling and Dee for providing the food on the night. Always nice to have a bit of grub during the break!

Finally well done to all the participants who took part, it was a pleasure to see the level and enthusiasm from the kids. It will really stand to them in the future. Parents take a bow!!

The photos have been upload to the pubic site so that our friends from Rush can access as well.

Enjoy

Well done to all who participated in the second largest Tae Kwon Do tournament run in Europe this year. The venue was Tallaght s Basketball Arena and it was run on the 5th and 6th February.

Rush Inter-club Competition - 27 November 2010
Well done to all who participated in the Rush inter-club competition hosted by Ann and Lucia Mc Carty and Master Val Douglas. We had 25 sparring sessions lasting 90 seconds and in some cases we had a few "sudden death"rounds, sounds dangerous but it really means another 30 seconds or the first person to score in extra time!

The purpose of these inter-club competitions is to give the students experience before the major international and national competitions. So once again well done and we hope you enjoyed the experience and the trophies!
